Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
- 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup honey (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Ingredients
Rinse the cranberries and blueberries. Grate the zest of one orange and squeeze fresh orange juice.
Cook the Fruit
In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, blueberries, and orange juice. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Add Honey, Cinnamon, and Orange Zest
Once the cranberries start to pop (about 5–7 minutes), reduce the heat to low. Stir in the honey, ground cinnamon, and orange zest. Let the mixture simmer, stirring occasionally, until it thickens (about 15–20 minutes).
Mash or Blend (optional)
For a smoother jam, use a potato masher or immersion blender to break down the fruit to your desired consistency. For a chunkier texture, leave it as is.
Add Vanilla (optional)
Stir in the vanilla extract at the end for a hint of warmth.
Cool and Store
Remove from heat and let the jam cool slightly. Transfer it to sterilized jars and refrigerate. The jam will thicken as it cools and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Serving Suggestions
The orange juice and zest create a bright, tangy balance to the sweetness, making this jam perfect for breakfast spreads, pairing with baked goods, or even as a glaze for meats.
Enjoy this rich and naturally sweetened jam!
