We were really excited to check out the Crayola Experience in Plano, Texas. Parking was really easy since it’s at The Shops at Willow bend so we didn’t have to walk very far with the boys. Also, not having to pay for parking is always a major plus for me! They have re-opened safely for covid-19 and you can read more about that here.
One of the tough things when looking for fun things for the boys is finding something that will actually entertain them all. There were enough activities for all three of my boys! My boys are one, four and almost twelve so anytime I can take them all somewhere and they’re all entertained – I count it as a win! They each had things that they could do for the 3 hours we were there. I will say that 3 hours is more than enough time to see everything and any more time there, I think the boys would have lost interest. They have not yet reopened the play area that i’m assuming was closed because of covid, but everything else was open. Had the play area been open, we would’ve been there longer for sure!
They also had a really cool show where they teach the kids about how crayons are made. The boys really enjoyed it and even my one-year-old’s attention was captured throughout the show. It was really neat to learn more about the process and to know that actually put crayons through an x-ray and metal detector machine once they are made! I definitely never thought of this, but with it being a product made for kids, it makes sense!
We loved our time at Crayola Experience and we will be purchasing an annual pass and taking the kiddos again. Its a great activity for an afternoon and a great alternative for a rainy day or an indoor activity. They have a cafe inside the venue if you want a snack but I recommend checking out the food court in the mall for a more cost effective meal and more variety. If you want to find some cool places to dine in, The District at Willow bend has some really cool venues and kid-friendly patios as well.
All-in-all, this was a win in my book! They boys want to go back and I will gladly take them again.
